Such a relaxing stay in an idyllic location; we spent many more days enjoying the pool and the views than we anticipated! The apartment is beautiful, kitchen very well equiped, and Alan and Lucia were fantastic and welcoming hosts. Would highly recommend!
Alan and Lucia have created a beautiful house which is spacious, well equiped and very comfortable. The pool is a real added bonus and the views are spectacular. With a plentiful supply of home grown fruit and veg from Alan’s garden this is rural life at its best. It is also perfectly located to explore the wonderful hill-top towns of Gubbio, Perugia, and Assisi, amongst others.
Another lovely stay at this beautiful and secluded place. We love the pool and its amazing views, and this year we also saw so many lovely butterflies. Alan and Lucia as ever went the extra mile to make us feel at home and look after us. We enjoyed day trips to Assisi and Gubbio, and had a very good meal at il Cocco de Mamma, just down the hill. We will be back…

We had a fabulous time at Wild Umbria. It is so quiet and relaxing. The pool is amazing, and our hosts went beyond the call of duty to make us welcome. It is very well situated for visits to Assisi, Gubbio and Lake Trasimeno, but you may prefer to while away your stay by the pool enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
So glad we decided to book & find out for ourselves what Wild Umbria had to offer. We discovered it was even better than described on this site i.e. a superb place in which to relax plus many interesting places to visit steeped in history. Our hosts could not have been more accomodating and we left feeling we had made new friends, who we intend visiting in the future. June and Trefor
We were bowled over by the uniqueness and beauty of this special house. My husband and I spent 6 days at Wild Umbria enjoying the beauty of the scenery and the hospitality of Alan and Lucia. The house is handcrafted, the garden full of wild flowers and butterflies, the pool completely secluded as you walk about a minute through the wood to the top of the hill. We were greeted with a box of homegrown/made produce and the food we’d need to make our evening meal. We’ve promised to come back again when it’s truffle season so we can watch Tess the dog sniff them out!
We stayed at Wild Umbria for a few days in 2018 and have just re-booked for a week in 2019. A perfect place to unwind and recharge the batteries. Off the beaten track and beautifully rustic, but with everything you need for a self-contained relaxing stay (including good Wi-Fi if you insist on staying in touch with the outside world). Love this place and its welcoming hosts. If you need a respite from the normal world, this is a great place to go.
We had the most relaxing time here! The apartment is really spacious and has plenty of sleeping and living space for 4 or more. We will definitely be coming with friends next year. The kitchen is really well equipped and of course, we loved the luxurious private pool with stunning views! Although the locality is ‘wild’, it is only a short drive to restaurants and towns, with plenty of things to do nearby. Alan and lucia are wonderful hosts.
Wild Umbria is a small paradise of peace surrounded by nature. We left Milan with Nina (our dog) to carve out a relaxing WE after a very tiring period and we could not have made a better choice. Warmly welcomed by Alan, Lucia and Homer (their sweet dog) we have enjoyed a very nice place, intelligently integrated into the environment by the hands of Alan but perfectly equipped with all amenities, such as the fantastic pool with a view on the hills. Guests have access to the house through their own entrance and the accommodation, completely separated from the owners one, allows you to enjoy the utmost discretion. There is also the possibility to have access to the vegetable garden to catch seasonal vegetables and enjoy a nice dinner under the gazebo of the external courtyard. It takes only 30’ to Assisi and Gubbio if you would like to visit the surroundings. Alan and Lucia are really two nice and kind people, it would be nice to come back to see them one day!
Beautiful hand crafted house in a tranquil and natural setting. We idled away our days, in total seclusion at the private pool and dined al fresco on the lovely shaded terrace filled with rambling roses and tumbling geraniums. We received a very warm welcome from Alan and lucia who were the perfect hosts and neighbours! The house is well located for visiting Gubbio, Spoleto, Assisi and more. Wild Umbria is the perfect choice for those who love wilderness, nature, relaxation and solitude. Our only complaint was that we had to leave! We take heart in knowing that we shall return again soon.
We had a very nice time in Wild Umbria. Being lost in the nature in such a cosy house gave us a fantastic feeling. We appreciated very much the region and were charmed by our guests. Getting fresh vegetables from the garden was just wondwerful. We have already recommended the house to our friends.
The dream of a remote holiday away from the bustle of life was fulfilled. Wild Umbria is surrounded by quiet and darkness at night (nightjars and fireflies excepted!). Butterflies and birds were in abundance during our stay. We tore ourselves away to spend a day in beautiful Gubbio but returned for walks and relaxation. As wild as we hoped it would be.

First morning waking up in this rural dream, can’t believe how beautiful it is. The accommodation is perfect for our family, everyone is catered for. The peaceful atmosphere has enabled us to relax completely. Our host Alan has done everything to make our stay perfect, shopping for us, leaving us homemade bread and homegrown fruit and vegetables. But it’s the pool with the view that is out of this world.
We absolutely loved our stay at Wild Umbria for our honeymoon adventure in September! Both Alan and lucia made us feel very welcome and even picked up some groceries for when we arrived. We also had fresh vegetables from the garden which we roasted on the open fire BBQ and some freshly baked bread waiting for us. Such a beautiful and tranquil place with just the noise of crickets! We had a trip out to Assisi but spent most of our time relaxing by the pool! Thank you both and we hope to return one day. :)
